Entry guidance
Every programme has its own requirements. These are the common requirements you may see across BIWD programmes.

Common requirements
- Education
- SSC for foundation programmes; HSC or above for selected advanced and digital programmes
- Minimum age
- 16 for language, 17 for maritime orientation, and 18 for programmes involving workplace exposure
- Language
- Enough communication ability to understand instruction and, where required, serve guests
- Documents
- NID or birth registration, academic certificates, photographs, and passport where available
- Experience
- Required only when stated on the specific programme page
- Screening
- Aptitude or logic screening where a programme publishes a threshold
Why these requirements matter
- Education requirements help make sure you can follow the course content.
- Age requirements may reflect legal or employer requirements for the intended pathway.
- Language requirements help you understand training and communicate safely at work.
- Document requirements help make sure your profile can be verified.
- Screening requirements help you choose a programme that matches your current ability.
If you are close to meeting a requirement, ask an adviser. There may be a preparation route that can help you build the missing skills before entering the main programme.
Not sure this is your pathway?
Start with the assessment. It costs nothing and it tells you where you actually stand.
